I lived in the United States for four years and I teach the classical Pilates method in fluent English. Every session is one-to-one or for couples on Gratz and Legacy Apparatus, in the way Joseph Pilates originally intended.

I am certified in the classical method, lineage direct from the New York school of Romana Kryzanowska, direct student of Joseph Pilates. The method I teach is the closest to the original, codified one taught in New York for over seventy years.

Sessions are scheduled by appointment in my private studio in Grosseto, the heart of the Maremma region in southern Tuscany. The studio is small, quiet, and equipped with the full classical apparatus line.

Who it's for

Who I typically welcome for English-spoken sessions.

01

Expats living in Maremma

Long-term residents who prefer working in English when it comes to the body, the breath and detailed cueing. Especially helpful for those who already practiced Pilates before moving to Italy and want to continue in their first language.

02

International visitors on extended stay

Tourists staying a week or longer in Maremma who want to maintain their Pilates routine. Holiday rentals, agriturismo, boutique hotels: wherever you are based, you can come to the studio for one-off sessions or a short series.

03

Professionals working remotely from Italy

Digital nomads, sabbatical guests, second-home owners. The classical Pilates method is an excellent counterbalance to long working hours at a desk.

04

International students and dancers

Students at the regional universities or visiting artists who want a serious classical Pilates studio in the area.

What to expect in your first sessions

A boutique studio, full attention, and a teaching style that respects the original method.

First session

We sit down, we talk. You fill out the intake form, tell me what brought you to Pilates and what you'd like to work on. Any past injuries, surgeries, recurring pains. Then I show you the studio and the apparatus, and we start with basic exercises on the Mat or Reformer to see how you move.

First weeks

We work on the fundamentals. Breathing, pelvic control, core engagement. I start using my hands more to guide you in specific points. One session a week is the minimum to feel changes, two sessions accelerate the process significantly.

First months

We add new exercises and new pieces of apparatus (Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Spine Corrector). The classical sequence builds in layers, one exercise prepares the next. Posture, alignment and core strength become integrated.

When this works, and when it doesn't

We can work together

  • You're an expat or long-term visitor in Maremma and prefer English
  • You already practiced Pilates abroad and want to continue with the classical method
  • You're visiting for a week or more and want to keep your practice going
  • You need rehabilitation work and want to coordinate in English with your doctor at home
  • You're a dancer, athlete or performer in transit through Tuscany

Maybe not the right fit

  • You're looking for group fitness classes or a cardio workout
  • You're staying for just one or two days: a single session won't change much
  • You're in acute pain or recovery: please see a physiotherapist first
  • You want unlimited monthly access: the studio only offers booked private sessions

Frequently asked questions

How fluent is your English?
I lived in the United States for four years and I'm completely comfortable teaching in English. I use the standard classical Pilates terminology (the same used in New York), and I can adapt vocabulary to your native register if needed.
I've never done Pilates before. Can I start with you?
Yes, and individual sessions are the best way to begin. The classical method has a precise sequence that is built progressively from basic to advanced. Starting one-to-one means learning the fundamentals correctly, without picking up bad habits.
I'm only here for a week. Is it worth it?
If you're already a Pilates practitioner, yes. Even two or three sessions will keep your body engaged during your stay. If you're new to Pilates, a week is enough to get the very basics and understand whether you want to continue.
Can I bring a partner or a friend?
Yes. I also offer couple sessions, which work very well if you and your partner have similar goals. I recommend at least one individual session each before doing the couple format, to get a sense of the method.
How does payment work?
Sessions are usually paid at the studio, by card or in cash. For longer series I can prepare a small package. Write or call me for current rates.
Where exactly is the studio?
Via Ambra 28, in the centre of Grosseto. Easy to reach from Castiglione della Pescaia, Punta Ala, Capalbio, Porto Ercole, Argentario and the rest of the southern Tuscan coast. About 30-45 minutes by car from most Maremma locations.

Come si svolge un percorso

01

Primo contatto
